A fine Walnut veneered Late 17thC. early 18thC. eight day longcase clock by

Henry Thornton of London 1692-1730.  Apprenticed to Samuel Steevens 6th June 1692.

Freedom of the clockmaker's Company 5th. Feb 1699. Has been in Private collection since 1930.

His clocks recorded as being a  longcase playing 6 tunes (seen in Moscow),

Two large chiming clocks  ( Winter Palace, St. Petersburg, and Troitsa Monastery nr. Moscow).
